Kit incorporates a highly efficient, high mount, wastegated Garrett GT28 turbocharger, the latest technology unit on the market today. An 8" heavy duty Donaldson remote air filter is used in the kit, laying on its side on the left-hand side under the bonnet, lengthways with the vehicle. The original air filter has shown to be restrictive when used for towing purposes. Oil supply lines to turbo come directly from main oil gallery and are returned through the side of an existing drain hole in the engine block, therefore not requiring the fitment of a hole in the side of the engine sump. Being high mount, the turbo and associated air intakes are well clear of water and mud. The TD42 Turbo-glide kit is the simplest and most reliable kit on the market, maintaining easy access to the engine for servicing requirements.
In most cases a 30% torque improvement will be achieved on wasted fuel presently being released into the atmosphere. When correctly installed, there is very little if any black smoke emitted from exhaust. In some cases fuel pump may have to be adjusted to achieve 30% power improvement.
We recommend a power gain of no more than 30% torque and 25% horsepower above factory specifications. Through experience engine life has shown to shorten if these levels are exceeded.
