John Just a quick note to let you and your staff know how my Swagman NGR 450 is going after you fitted the cooler and chnaged the exhaust system. After leaving you I went up the Macquarie Pass to Robinson. It flew up there in 3rd at between 2200 and 2500 RPM. Then I went into and back out of Kangaroo Valley. Same thing. Pulled out in 3rd gear even around the hairpin corners. Seems as though I've chnaged from a 6cyl car to a V6. Money well spent. I'll let you know about fuel consumption later. Lindsay "nothing but praise" -Ian H. Well,.. your TurboGlide GT28 Turbocharger System is in our 1HZ 100 series Auto Landcruiser!. It's a beautiful sight, very neat and tidy. The exhaust is a little noisier than the factory system but this is due in part to the free'er flowing 2 1/2 inch mandrel bent turbo exhaust system that has now been fitted from front to rear. I have nothing but praise for yourselves who have been patient and informative the whole time and for your Melbourne fitter, Kevin Finnigan of Eastern Turbochargers who is a perfectionist and true professional in every way. Since fitting the TurboGlide Turbocharger System, the Cruiser is far mor driveable than ever before. I took the Cruiser up our big Montrose hill and where previously I used to say to the family "lean forward so we can get up" I can now say "what hill",... she just eats it up! To John and the Turbo Glide Team Just a quick note to let you and your staff know how my 1990 GQ Td42 went after the installation of your turbo kit. The drive from Canberra to Wollongong the other day was really quite frustrating, it was the first highway run I have made in this vehicle as I have only owned it for 2 weeks. I was getting used to slowing rite down going up hills, having to swap and change gears constantly and I really think it gets quite tiring. After the installation and tuning was complete and we drove home it only took me five minutes to realize what a difference it had made. The drive home was unbelievable. The Patrol cruised up Macquarie pass with ease in third gear. Along the highway it was pulling up all the steep hills and gaining speed as apposed to slowing rite down and blowing black smoke, and all with lesser amount of throttle. I was also impressed by the professional and thorough service shown by all of your staff. As a fitter and machinist in the scientific R & D area, I made up my mind when I looked the Turbo Glide package. It stood out from the rest with the elegance and simple design as well as the quality of all the components and fitment. The fact that the increased amount of power was also coupled with the complete reliability and without have much effect on engine life was great peace of mind. I find that too many other turbo companies these days feel the need to boast about how much power their kits can make but forget that in a four wheel drive you need power but more important reliability. Dear Turbo Glide Crew, I apologise for taking so long to get in touch to let you know how the job on our 2H diesel Coaster went....in short, the improvement id "#&%*@ unbelievable". I am recommending you to everyone I know. I would have been in touch much sooner but we took the long way home to the sunny mid north coast so I could play with the vege bus's new found power!! I was sceptical when you suggested we hit the Bulli Pass as the first test, my mind changed as soon as we ripped up the first grade and came off the top of the pass in third gear, accelerating through 70kph. From there on it just got better. Between there and the star of the Sydney area I had to back off several times when the speedo was showing 130k's and climbing easily. The improvement in torque is easily the most noticeable (and useful) improvement, the recovery rate after a long hill climb is now about as good as it gets. In traffic I found that I was waiting for everything else to have a go, not the other way round. Fuel consumption was noticeable reduced on the trip home, overall noise levels are reduced, as were the driver's stress levels. We plan to get a tandem trailer to tow our small 4wd on trips. Yesterday I tested the bus out on a borrowed, loaded, tandem furniture trailer and the bus handled it without a problem and kept up with local traffic in all conditions. The bottom line is, money ell spent, everyone should do it ASAP. It was also a pleasure to deal with people who appeared to care and know about what they were doing. A special thank you also the the Office "Boss" who also dropped us off and picked us up from the hire car mob in town, much appreciated. What a remarkable change it has made. I have found the beast runs much better up hills and passing whilst retaining the same fuel consumption. You did mention that the standard snorkel inlet hat was fairly restrictive so I've fitted an Airtech O.E. fit air ram from TJM (part# 011AIR0697T). On the way back from Canberra with a very blustery crosswind I recorded12. 0 litres/100km. This was down from around 13.2 for the same trip with NO wind (I always sit on the speed limit as I see it as folly to go faster - pace, not race). Mount Ousley was a breeze over the top in fifth gear backing off. My Toyota 80 series now drives better in all aspects, traffic open road and hills also much quieter. "your on a winner" -D & G. Dear John & Michael, Just over two weeks have now passed since Turboglide fitted the GT25 to my 100 series auto Landcruiser which had only 3000 Ks on the clock. The day i place my order with sci-fleet Toyota for my new 100 series, I knew it was going to be a slug compared to my 1993 factory turbo auto 80 series with 200,000ks showing. The hunt was on....after many phone calls and visits to various (so called) diesel turbo experts, it soon became obvious to me that Turbo-Glide were one of a very few that seemed to actually know what they were talking about. Not only that, you have the unique ability to explain in terms that any bush mechanic can grasp what actually can be achieved, how and for what reasons you set up your turbo's the way you do! Well..."the proof is in the pudding" The 100 now goes hard, in fact I'm convinced it would out drag my old 80. Needless to say I am more than happy with the end result. I am also convinced fuel consumption has improved somewhat, Although I have not had the chance to accurately check the consumption - the fuel gauge has basically stopped moving! I must say I am also satisfied with the quality of all associated components used in the installation. Infact one mate of mine is bringing down his 100 to see you before the end of this month. Dear Sir, One year has now passed since the installation of a Garrett Turbocharger to my Safari Kakadu 100 campervan which is based on a Toyota Dyna 100 light truck chassis powered by a 2.4 litre diesel engine. During the past year during a trip around Australia I had a very good chance to evaluate the performance of the now turbo charged vehicle as opposed to the past non-turbo powered version. Everything your company promised by way of improved fuel economy and pulling power was fulfilled more so than I expected. Prior to the installation of the turbo charger with careful driving the vehicle used around 12 litres of fuel per 100 kilometres. Fuel consumption during the trip around Australia covering nearly 20,000 kms averaged out at almost 10 litres per 100 kms. A vast improvement indeed. The hill climbing ability of the vehicle was very much improved and it was noted that the engine ran smoother, quieter and much cooler than before. To date I have not experienced any trouble at all with the installation of the turbo charger and I take this opportunity to thank you for a job well done. Yours sincerely, Lawrie W. Dear John, I thought you might be interested in knowing how we got on with our Winnebago on the Nissan Cabstar on the way back to Queensland with the Turbo Charger that you fitted. I certainly believe you undersold yourself on this one. You had quoted between 30% and 35% increase in power. We received in excess of 40% increase in power. You quoted about a 4% increase in fuel economy. We received consistently 12.5% increase in fuel economy. These are not pie guesstimates. They are genuine tests with nothing left to chance. We also found that climbing the Moonbies on the way home (a very steep long range) that most of the pull was executed in fourth gear. The added bonus was not holding up traffic but staying with it, a big plus for Motor Home drivers. You do have an exceptional reputation throughout the East Coast of Australia and now we know why. Dear John, Just a quick note to thank you for the work recently completed on our Mazda T3500. The 25% to 30% anticipated/ indicated improvement in the power and torque figures in fact resulted in a 40% power increase and torque up by 93%, both at 100km/hr. This improvement is especially noticeable on the road at highway speeds. One additional benefit observed is the appreciable quieting of engine noise, not because of a higher gear selection, just quieter. No improvement (nor penalty) on fuel economy. John, We now pass trucks and even cars up hills with our heavy van. As we do we yell out to the poor suffering bastards, GET A TURBO FROM JOHN! We drive most of the time in full locked up overdrive on flat and even on slight up hill sections. Hardly ever use more than 3rd/4th for ordinary hills and never changing to low unless held up by a big fella. Fuel consumption has decreased 25% when towing (we do on 3/4 what we used to do on full). Suprisingly un-shackled driving has produced only 12 1/2% better but the tests on that have all been city stuff- no long runs so expect better. Thanks. A very happy customer. Bruce H.
